Protek Woodstain & Protect Whitewash
From Huckleberry Finn to modern monochrome designs and in to the traditional soft country cottage style garden, this white woodstain looks gentle, elegant and beautiful.
This truly gives the modern day effect of whitewashing timber with the white pigments soaking in to the wood leaving a soft stain effect. The grain of the wood shows through this brilliant white ghostly veil making planting stand out even more. Try it on a pergola with pink climbing roses or on fencing with hollyhocks, foxgloves and Japanese anemones drifting in front.
The nature of a wood stain is to allow some of the grain and colour of the timber to show through. So from a white wash to a solid opaque finish if you are painting over other colours or dark timber it may take a few coats to get the effect you are looking for.
This is a protective water-repellent coating. If your timber isn't treated with a preservative then depending on the type of wood and product, you may want to use our Wood Preserver Plus first.
For light colours, we recommend using our Stain Blocking Primer to prevent the top coat discolouring from possible tannin bleed.
