Dating from around 1820, the original fragment of this refined wallpaper was discovered in Lauderdale House, a historic 16th-century property on Highgate Hill overlooking Hampstead Heath. Unlike traditional block-printed papers of the period, the design was originally created using a stencilling technique directly in situ over a plain paper mounted on hessian scrim. Featuring a variation on a classic vertical stripe theme made of delicate fronds, Little Greene has reinterpreted this archival piece into a timeless paper for modern living.
