Little Greene Monroe Wallpaper- Gold Flower
Details:
Story & Inspiration
Discovered as a small archival fragment in Brooke House in Hackney, East London, before its demolition in the 1950s, Little Greene's Monroe wallpaper carries a rich local history. The property long served as a private hospital, and the pattern takes its name from Dr. John Monroe, one of the hospital's prominent 19th-century owners. Heavily influenced by the Arts & Crafts Movement, the familiar, comforting floral motifs were originally selected to create a tranquil, uplifting environment that would aid in patient recovery. Part of the Archive Trails II collection, this Gold Flower upreserves that restorative charm with a warm, modern palette.
