Product Description

Protek Clear Wood Preserver is an essential pre-treatment designed to safeguard untreated, bare exterior timber against destructive biological threats. Formulated with advanced water-based technology, this clear preservative deeply soaks into the wood grain to protect against wood-destroying fungi, wet rot, blue stain, and wood-boring insects.  

Ideal for garden sheds, summerhouses, log cabins, windows, and exterior joinery, it acts as a moisture-regulating primer coat that bonds finish treatments to the surface. Once dry, it leaves a clear, natural finish that must be overcoated with a protective exterior topcoat. Its low-odour, low-VOC formula provides long-lasting defense to ensure your outdoor wooden structures stay strong and healthy for years to come.  

Product Details

• Application Method: Synthetic brush, roller, or low-pressure sprayer  
• Drying Time: Touch dry in 2 hours; allow 2 to 6 hours before applying a topcoat depending on weather conditions  
• Coverage: Approx. 6–8 m² per litre (varies depending on wood porosity)  
• Recommended Coats: 2 coats for maximum protection  
• Suitable Uses: External timber out of direct ground contact (sheds, summerhouses, cladding, window frames, doors)  
• Base Type: Water-based active biocidal formula  
• Key Benefits: Low VOC, deeply penetrating, protects against rot, fungi, and wood-boring insects, acts as a primer for topcoats  
• Safety Warnings: Contains permethrin; keep cats away until completely dry. Not suitable for beehives or beekeeping equipment. Must be overcoated with a topcoat finish.
