The Dulux Trade Weathershield Smooth Masonry Paint is a high-performance, exterior decorative coating engineered to protect outside masonry surfaces against harsh weather conditions while maintaining a smooth, attractive finish.

• Coverage Rates
• Smooth Surfaces (Low Porosity / Rendering): Up to 16 m² per litre.   
• Textured Surfaces (High Porosity / Pebble-dash): 4–6 m² per litre.   
• Actual coverage depends heavily on the texture, porosity, and condition of the surface.   
• Drying & Recoat Times
• Touch Dry: 30 minutes.   
• Shower Resistant: 30 minutes.   
• Recoat Time: 2–4 hours (dependent on ambient temperature and humidity).   
• Application Methods & Thinning
• Application Tools: Exterior brush, masonry roller, or airless spray.   
• Airless Spray Setup: Minimum pressure of 133 bars (2000 psi), tip size of 0.015"–0.017", and spray angle of 65°.   
• Bare / New Surfaces: Thin the first coat with up to 1 part clean water to 5 parts paint to act as a sealer.   
• Normal / Airless Spray Thinning: Add up to 1 part clean water to 10 parts paint for general application if necessary, or up to 1 to 5 for airless spraying.   
• Surface Preparation & Application Guidelines
• Surface Condition: All surfaces must be clean, dry, and free from dirt, grease, or flaking paint. Treat organic growth (mould, algae, moss) with a fungicidal wash.   
• Chalky / Powdery Surfaces: Seal friable or powdery surfaces with Dulux Trade Weathershield Stabilising Primer before painting (do not use stabilising primer on sound/bare surfaces).   
• Coats Recommended: Apply 2 full coats for optimal 15-year weather protection. A single coat may suffice for sound, previously painted surfaces of a similar colour.   
• Conditions: Do not apply in temperatures below 7°C, in rain or fog, or when relative humidity exceeds 80%.   
• Substrate Restrictions: Do not use on common or Fletton bricks, or on parapet/retaining walls below ground-level damp-proof courses.
